To be in the running for this award please complete and submit this application form. The questions relate to the judging criteria, so you are encouraged to complete all sections.
Eligibility
Organisations may apply multiple times. However, you may only be considered for one category in the 2026 SIMNA Awards for each project or initiative. This form is for the Emerging Practice in Social Impact Measurement Award.
The Emerging Practice Award is designed for organisations or initiatives that are early in their impact measurement journey. It recognises progress rather than perfection, encouraging participation from smaller or newer organisations and initiatives and supporting overall sector uplift by celebrating those demonstrating strong foundations, rapid improvement, and a clear commitment to building future capability.
To stand out, strong submissions should demonstrate:
- A clear, early-stage impact measurement plan or framework
- Evidence of rapid improvement in practices
- A commitment to capability building within the team or organisation
- Practical use of data to inform decisions
- A realistic scope aligned with current organisational capacity
- Application of the Principles of Social Value
- Plans in place for transparent reporting, including actively sharing limitations and learnings.
If you want to apply for a different award category, please click on the correct link on the Awards home page. If you have any questions about the categories, please contact SIMNA's Executive Officer, Laura Glynn, at laura@simna.com.au.
Supporting documents
In addition to the word limits, you may attach either:
- a five-page document (A4, 10pt or equivalent) containing a logic model/theory of change, images, graphics, and supporting evidence; or
- a five-minute video presentation.
Judges are only asked to review supporting information within these limits. Anything beyond that may not be considered.
