Eligibility

Organisations may apply multiple times. However, you may only be considered for one category in the 2026 SIMNA Awards for each project or initiative. This application form is for the Outstanding Collaboration in Social Impact Measurement Award.

The Outstanding Collaboration Award recognises place-based, systems change, and other collaborative initiatives that demonstrate genuine shared responsibility and power sharing in social impact measurement. It celebrates partnerships where partners work together and/or communities and program participants co-lead or co-govern the design, decision-making, and interpretation of measurement, evaluation, and learning.

Consultants and advisors may contribute expertise and may themselves be partners in the initiative. However, eligible collaborations must demonstrate shared ownership, influence, and decision-making among multiple partners and/or communities. A traditional client-consultant relationship, on its own, does not meet the intent of this award. Strong collaboration in impact measurement creates more relevant, credible, and useful insights, helping align partners, strengthen local ecosystems, and support equitable outcomes that truly reflect lived experience.

To stand out, strong submissions should demonstrate:

Genuine co-design and shared governance
Clear evidence of community, participant, and/or partner influence on key decisions
Evidence of trust-building and equitable processes
Active use of social impact measurement to align partners and drive collective action.

Supporting documents

In addition to the word limits, you may attach either:

a five-page document (A4, 10pt or equivalent) containing a logic model/theory of change, images, graphics, and supporting evidence; or
a five-minute video presentation.

Judges are only asked to review supporting information within these limits. Anything beyond that may not be considered.

Judging process (Not Applicable)

The SIMNA Awards celebrate those that have undertaken high quality social impact measurement AND are using social impact measurement to improve decision-making.

Because of this, judging is conducted in two parts:

Purpose and pitch – This considers the extent to which the social impact measurement work is outstanding in its specific category and the degree to which decision-making and the delivery of social outcomes is (or will be) influenced by the results.
Technical quality – This considers the technical rigour which is evident in the project and the general application of the Principles of Social Value.
