Eligibility

Organisations may apply multiple times. However, you may only be considered for one category in the 2025 SIMNA Awards for each project or initiative. This entry form is for the Social Impact Measurement in Funding, Investment or Grantmaking award.

This award is intended to look across a funding, investment or grantmaking portfolio to see how social impact measurement is structuring and informing decision making. The Award is open to any organisation which funds activities intended to have a social impact, including (but not limited to):

  • local, state/territory and federal government bodies
  • trusts and foundations
  • corporations
  • impact investors
  • social enterprises and social businesses

For larger bodies with complex operations and multiple funding streams, the application may be with respect to a particular portfolio or initiative.

This award recognises the complexity of navigating social impact measurement across a variety of funded initiatives and stakeholder groups.

If you want to submit an entry for a different award category please click on the correct link on the SIMNA Awards home page. If you have any questions about the categories please contact Laura Glynn laura@simna.com.au.

Judging Process

The SIMNA Awards celebrate those that have undertaken high quality social impact measurement AND are using social impact measurement to improve decision-making.

Because of this, judging is conducted in two parts:

  1. Purpose and Application – This considers the extent to which the social impact measurement project is outstanding in its specific category and the degree to which decision-making and the delivery of social outcomes is (or will be) influenced by the results. This part constitutes 40% of the overall score.
  2. Technical Quality – This considers the technical rigour which is evident in the project and the general application of Social Value International’s Principles of Social Value. This part constitutes 60% of the overall score.
